Leslie Kwan is a Guyanese American entrepreneur, author and harpsichordist. She grew up with Lincoln Center as her playground and American Pop music as her soundtrack.
In addition to founding her own French baroque chamber orchestra L’Académie, and her pioneering chamber music series at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, highlights of Leslie’s career includes sales at CHANELand marketing at the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
In Autumn 2019, Ms. Kwan moved to UK and founded MonarchMusic, an organisation that produced chamber music concerts exclusively for cancer and pediatric hospitals in London.
Leslie’s debut children’s book, A IS FOR ARETHA, is a gift to little Black girls everywhere to ensure that they learn about some of the most influential Black female musicians of all time, and inspire them to use their love of music for good.
It’s the kind of book that Leslie wished had been available to her as a young musician.
